Well it's time for me to start thinking about Christmas! Actually I start thinking about it December 26th. I love Christmas, it's my favorite time of the year. My childhood memories of Christmas are all very magical. We didn't have to go to school, we got new things, our family went special places (like down town Cincinnati to see tell the talking reindeer at Pogue's what we wanted for Christmas), I got to see my cousins...I loved Christmas as a child and I try really hard to create traditions my children will remember to make it just as magical for them.
Believe it or not, as I type, I'm already finished shopping for my nieces and nephews almost. Cincinnati was hit by Hurricane Ike and since the kids were out of school, I didn't have useful food in the house for the extra kids I had along with us (Keegan, Nick and Kelsey) I went shopping! We went to Ted's Toy Store in Madeira which had a fabulous selection of really unusual toys for kids...mmmm....up to age 12 I'd say. Some for older. I helped my teenager pick out toys for her brother and sister, and I helped Steve pick out something for Jackie. Then a few others and whatnot, we really had a blast!
This year will be especially fun because we are going to Walt Disney World the week before Christmas with my mom and dad and also my brother Ron and his family, the kids are going to LOVE IT! So I'm getting the rest of my Christmas shopping out of the way early and I'm going to even have everything wrapped, hopefully by November 1st, so the entire month of December can be spent just enjoying my family and our traditions.
